Jim Anctil
Founder/Owner
Jim Anctil, owner of Marie’s Movers, is a native of Prospect, CT. In 1976, his parents opened a Jefferson Pine furniture store at the Heritage Village Bazaar in Southbury. From that time on Jim assisted with, and then managed, the furniture deliveries of his family’s business. In 2008, with the encouragement of his customers in Heritage Village, Jim began doing small moves. By 2012 the moving portion of Marie’s became Jim’s sole occupation. Jim’s ascendancy into the moving business through a retail background is unusual in the field and is responsible for the polite customer service-oriented attitude that is the defining characteristic of a Marie’s Movers’ crew.

Marie Anctil is the late mother of Jim Anctil and the owner of the family business “Marie’s Country Furnishings” that spawned Marie’s Movers. She instilled Jim with the adventurous and independent mindset that all successful small business owners must have. Additionally, her deep sense of fairness and concern for the community became Jim’s primary motivation. Sadly, Marie passed away in March of 2022.

Maries Movers follows a strict privacy policy. We do not sell your information. The contact information you provide on our website is used to contact customers in order to answer questions from the website inquiries. The privacy policy is meant to inform potential and current customers of any use of their provided information.
